Found Art Friday 271

Dear ones,
How are you? And welcome back to (or from) The Department of Homeland Inspiration where we record and share our appreciation of, for example, these:

Shared by Bonnie Hotz who makes pots.  Now part of our series "moments in fencing" which plays out beautifully in our neighborhood, but very rarely stands up to constraints of a phone-o-grab.
Ohhhh Sing it!  Ole rusted rancher history  -  the grooves erosion project begs for a slab of clay to be impressed by it.
Back to basics we said to ourselves, just look at the patch of world we are able to witness while walking dog god.  Found Art Friday is a collection of small care-about-that-image-s, often rooted in the subtle variants of repetitious daily activities in a beautiful setting.
Hundreds of passings.  Is it the swaying gesture?  Is it the alone ness? Is it the never the same sky?  Why ?
Then we must go out into the commercial world to forage for nuts and berries.
We call em UFOs  -
We don't see too many other ladies like us marveling at squashed items, especially after the rain, in parking lots.

For a moment, back to the pressurized sledge hammer of current events, we continue our series of repurposed art works:
(From the Financial crash of 2008) This (embarassing) thing has been living in Art Ranger's studio, doing what we call "ageing in place"
One day recently we noticed that something significant had happened to it!
we believe accomplished by two (pussy) cats
Have yourselves a lovely week and please do share your findings - yah we love Insta too, but the Art Ranger would like to roll your images in to her random yet pointed narrative: send to homelandinspiration@gmail.com

Found Art Friday 270

Dear ones,
Interestingly, last week we were (out of order) just when we mentioned counting.  Our specialty is art appreciation where you might not expect it. This week's Found Art Friday criteria:
moisture related moments:
so much depends upon the blue wheelbarrow and its home improvement patina
shovel stencil after rain rinse
On dog god walks discovering the amazing Earthstar or astraeus hygrometeucus - in dry times those leathery flaps are closed for protection.  It can re-hydrate -dry repeat.  To release spores the dang thing explodes!

Bird who paints itself is back

Art Ranger longs to wear a beret and paint about it but will instead do this.

And a community of lichen is admired for shape and color and texture

Meanwhile:
At the postoffice we can't take our mind off the government - THE GOVERNMENT .....

a coup of idiocy a crap on (we the people)s face

Another Repurposed art work from 2008: Formerly Sally Mae, (of student loans)
and very white fear not seeing clear
smallpeople takingburden for greedyfatassscoundrels and other debacles

Have a stellar week and we hope that you can witness members of mycelium in your own winter zone. Please send evidence to: homelandinspiration@gmail.com

Found Art Friday 290

Dear ones,
Welcome to The Department of Homeland Inspiration Why count?  asks the Art Ranger beginning her eighth year at this post publishing "platform". Perhaps, by now, looking for art to manifest in everyday life is a place in your head too? and if you're new, what on earth would make you come back?  Our job is to be a reporter and a sorter of images.  Not Insta but moderate contemplation instead, juxtapositions galore. Counting is hard to stop doing once you get started, as is -watching-the-news -  even though refrain from this would be good for our health, so gripping the drama though.  News watching is the new smoking, a veritable hole in the gut burner even if you are on the lucky end of the stinks.

For this first post of 2019, we begin a new series called Re-purposed Art Works  - heck these creations (seen by so few) need recycling, cradle-to-cradle fashion like anything else in this crowded tilted world.  Originally from a five year old collaboration on Fracking, today we re-use and re-name a few portraits. Apply sketches to today's spray of creepy grifters, predatory puppets, and (racist rapists) all quite related by pockets sewn together with the resource suckers and serial polluters of the Frack Age.
from the work "Sea to Shining Sea" sculptural treatments of US Mexico Border yah right

make a (wall) on a river, for instance
........and crowned thy good with "brotherhood" from Sea to Shining Sea
formerly a character named High Fructose, today, Acting AG Matt Whitaker, or any number of very big babies
Formerly named Viagra Gene:  now Secretary of the Interior, head of the EPA below, or some ass wearing a hat

Puppet of Homeland Security; "I do not recall"  Darling, You know the type

We certainly hope that your sense of humor is still in tact and that you have plans for a sanity filled 2019.  Take pictures, we know you can't help it.  And we get tired of ourselves, don't you? so please share a few with Art Ranger here: homelandinspiration@gmail.com
